So basically the same game we played outside with wooden tops. The game is hundreds of years old. The tops were about the size of our fist with a steel point and a string wrapped around them. A loop in one end of the string went around your middle finger yoyo style. We drew a circle in the swept dirt and threw the top jerking back on the string. First top to get knocked out of the circle lost.

Then in 1968 a guy invented a smaller version and called it . This Beyblade deal is simply a re-invention of Battling Tops.
