I'll admit right off that I didn't have time to watch this whole video so he may have addressed my comment but it seems to me that you could just increase your infill for the same benefit??

Yes he compared it to solid infill and it was stronger, in some cases. Increased infill still has layer separation issues which limits its strength, but the injected molten resin fills the gaps better and can improve layer adhesion significantly. The use cases for solid infill and molten injection would need to be better defined, but for now it's all still experimental. There's a lot of experimentation and exploration opening up for this technique and I think we'll see more ideas and improvements to come.

I've been printing for a little while now and the more I do and learn the more it seems like I have to do and learn!!!

That's the whole 3D printing experience summed up in one sentence! It's fun, frustrating, exciting and tedious all at the same time and we just keep on doing it!
