Ciri from the witcher for my wife's friend.

Hoping to paint it up for her this evening.

Think I need better support skills cause I'm not sure I can save her..

On top of what others have said you should also rotate it so that it is lying on its back maybe. The front is going to get the most eyeballs and ripping all that support off is going to leave scars.

Good point. I had it on the side because I didn't want the sword to be too brittle so I had it flat this way so it was with the layers.

I'll try again now I know a bit more about tree supports.

I don't know that the sword strength is real important unless kids are going to play with it. You could make it with a stronger material though like PETG or something to make it stronger. You could also increase your wall loops and infill to make it stronger.

Meaning if I have to remove the support I didn't want the sword snapping off, which it did anyway..

I got a new print on the go now so we shall see. Thanks for the advice!

Don’t worry, that’s totally normal.

You’ll get better overtime.

Thanks. Definitely still a novice.

Thought I'd try something more technical. Guess I need to keep on learnin'

Check 3D templates and shared online projects to familiarize yourself with the supports placement and size.

Thats way too much support.

Try to slice it without support at all and see how it goes.

I thought it didn't look right. I had to lay the model down otherwise it would complain there were missing layers on the sword. When I paint on the on the supports (using prusa slicer) that was the result so I just tried it to see if it worked

tree supports, and only under parts that are not touching the bed.

Cool mate, thanks. I couldn't see anywhere in prusa slicer how to do tree supports but I'll have a look online.
