You didn't melt it. The plastic deformed. Plastic deformation can occur at temperatures much lower than its melting point. You might not be able to go above 180 for ASA and keep the plastic from deforming, but of course that will lengthen you desiccant drying time.

A little patience and a hair dryer/hot air gun could allow you to reform this basket. It won't be perfect, but you make it useful at the very least. I'd give it a try while the second one is printing if I was in your shoes.
