Now I can have 8 rolls of filament loaded and ready to go. The machine switches to other rolls automatically.

Wait, can it use both at the same time so you have double the colors/material that is programmed for the print? Where are you on cost at this point? Somewhere around $1200-ish?

Yes, I can do 8 color prints now fully auto. The machine will support 2 more AMS units so I can have 16 colors on tap. It just changes color according to the print.

I'm about 13 into the hardware setup. All the filaments are also a few hundred bucks total, I have 19 spools now. Different colors and materials. I have already had to buy a couple replacements for colors that I am running out of. Filament costs about 14 to 24 dollars depending on material and if I am buying it on a spool or just a reload. There are a couple other filaments that cost a ton of money for doing exotic stuff but I have not ventured into that yet.

Nice, I am starting to really see a reason for buying a unit like that. I am not doing that amount of printing and won't be upgrading until I move and might invest in a good "cheap" CnC or Laser system before I upgrade the printer but that is very tempting.

I may get the snapmaker artisan one of these days. 3d printer, cnc carving and cutting, and laser engraving and cutting all in one machine. It's bad ass. I am more than happy with what I have now though, it will keep me creating for a long time.

Bambu, with the AMS hub allows stacking 4 AMS together for 16 color prints.
