Fair take regarding the open source aspect of the new printer. However, they missed a beat here. Making the appearance other than fact.

>But the Core ONE also represents a mostly clean slate design, one that shares relatively little with the i3. This frees Prusa from any obligation, perceived or otherwise, to continue releasing the printer’s design files. Indeed, the term “open source” only appears once in the announcement post for the printer — and that’s when referring to the firmware and slicer code, which are.>>

The core one, shares many of the same parts with the mk4s. Even going as far as releasing a method to allow upgrading the mk4s to a core one. Screams of parts interchangeability... Both were designed with their planned MMU in mind also.

Yeah, though.. With the price point of ~$1200 for a single color spool printer I probably would go with @MrFadedGlory's suggestion and go with a bambu lab printer that can do multi-color out of the box. https://bambulab.com/en-us

The P1 + the AMS is only $750 right now.

There was a reason I finally upgraded my Ender 3 (i upgraded this a lot along the way, sprite extruder, v2 MB and display, dual z, bltouch, others...) for a P1S with the AMS... it is night and day difference in how much effort I put into a print.

Isn't it amazing? Normally I try to avoid Chinese shit but they hit this one out of the park. There really is no comparison.

Yeah, I am still on a MakerSelect v2 which is basically a clone of a Prusa i3 MK3. Its old as all hell and still works but the effort to run a print is far, far, higher than any of the new stuff.
